CATHOLIC BAZAAR.
OPENS TO-NIGHT.
| Great interest is usually centred inn j the annual bazaar in aid of St. Patrick's Church, Masterton, and' 1 this year the function premises to be quite as successful as its predecessors. Energetic committees have worked with a wiH to ensure success in the multitudinous departments of" such a comprehensive affair, and theresult will doubtless be emphatic , success. The two buildings—the Town and Drill Halls—are to be used for the bazaar, which will be opened; by His Worship the Mayor (Mr P. L. Holiings). One of the most attractive articles to be seen in the bazaar is a handsome wax figure representative • of a bride. The figure is covered with a most beautiful dress, designed and made by MisS Burke, head dressmaker ac the W.F.C.A. The dress is ot real duchess satin t with Court train, and is trimmed with maltese lace. The usual veil and orange blossoms are in evidence,, and the "bride" carries a handsome showtr bouquet. Another figure has-- < been dressed most expensively as a "ballet girl" by Miss Burke, and is bedecked with a pretty lace "dancer's hat," artistically trimmed by Mrs Kelly, of the W.F.C.A. Both figures are to be donated as prizes, and during the bazaar will be locnted in No.- 2 stall, to be known as "Ireland." Tickets for admission to the Bazaar entitle the holder to a chance in the art union, for which four handsome prizes will, be allotted. The doors will be open at 7.30 o'clock. The public are reminded that an extra charge of sixpence will be made for admission to the dresscircle.
