"IVTOTICE is hereby given of the intenJ_\ tion of the Council to proceed with the construction of the intake and races in conn a ction with the above water supply. Prom the intake, which is situated in Section 11, Block XI[I, Kopuaranga Survey District, the [course of the main and branch races is generally in a southerly direction, and the lands through which they will pass are the properties abutting on and adjacent to the Waingawa to Camp Road, and the eastern side of the Upper Road, After being conveyed in a flume round the foot of the Lmsdowne Hill a distributing race will serve the several properties abutting on the Ruamahanga River on the east side of Lansdowna Hill, and the surplus water will be discharged into the Waipoua and Ruamaliunga Rivers, or such other natural watercourses as may be found convenient. The estate or interest in land which the Council proposes to acquire in connection with this wat;r supply is the right of entry for a distance cf 25 links on either side of the main and branch raceß for the purpose of constructing, enlarging, maintaining, and otherwise repairing tha same. A plan of the said races has, in accordance with the provisions of " The Water Supply Act, 1908," been deposited for public inspection, without fee, at the Magistrate's Court House, Masterton. All persons affected by the execution of the said works, and having any wellgounded objection thereto, are hereby required, within fourteen days from date hereof, to lodge such objection in writing at the paid Courthouse, and send a copy thereof >to the office of the Council, Chapel Street, Masterton.
