GERMANY NOT DESIGNING.
LORD ROSEBERY'S OPINION
BRITAIN MUST INSURE AGAINST R T SKS.
Received December 7, 8.20 a.m. LONDON, December 6.
Lord Rosebery, speaking at Leith, said he did not believe there would bs an unprovoked attempt by Germany to invade Great Britain, but it was Britain's duty to insure against all risks.
Admiral Sir Cyprian Bridge is not an alarmist; rather is he inclined to believe that, whatever may be Germany's designs, Britain has no need to fear. The admiral, who retired from active service three years ago, after acting as commander-in-chief of the Australian, and afterwards of the China, naval stations, recently significantly declared that, so far as his own information goes, Germany has England in view.in her naval and military preparations, but he refuses to be frightened, and has given reasons for believing that Britain is safe from German invasion.
