PORT-AU-PRINCE, Dec. 4

Foiled in the attempt to assassinate General Alexis, the mob at Port-au-Prince pillagdd shops and houses and fought among themselves. Four were killed.

Ultimately General Poidevin, with a party of soldiers and citizens, fired on the mob, killing twelve. Order was then restored.
