MASTERTON LAWN TENNIS CLUB.

"YANKEE" HANDICAP COMPETITION.

The "Yankee" Handicap combined tournament held on the Mnsterton Lawn Tennis Club's courts on Saturday afternoon was a great success. Fifteen pairs entered for the event, and as each pair played every other pair it meant that fourteen matches had to be played by each contesting pair. The matches consisted of 20 points each, starting from the handicap allotted by the handicapping|committee. The'prize, consisting of a box of Sykes' tennis balls, was divided by the following couples:— Mr H. J. Francis and Miss Wolff, Mr A. D. Low and Miss'Wyett, and Mr H. H. Pavitt and Miss Simpson, each scored ten wins. The unanimous verdict was that a most enjoyable afternoon's play was provided by the competition.
