The Tope has fixed the beautification of Joan of Arc for April. She will be proclaimed Protectress of the French.
THE POPLAR GUARDIAN FRAUDS.

In connection with the Poplar Guardians frauds, the sentencepassed at the Old Bailey on Peacock and Albert Smith was twelve months each, on Poole, Joseph Smith, and Finoon, nine months each, on Eellanam six months, and on Cordery three months. INTERNATIONAL BOWLING, Received December 7, 12.35 a.m. SYDNEY, December 6. There is no chance of a JNew South Wales bowling team visiting New Zealand.
