MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
MEETING OP STEWARDS. A meeting of stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was held in the Secretary's office on Saturday afternoon. There were [[present—Messrs C. A. Pownall (chairman), J. O'Meara, J. Cress, A. J. Welch, C. H. Smith, W. Cooper, A. Reside, D. McLachlan, R. Buick, J. Macara, W. Piatt, D. Caselberg, and 0. C. Cooper. The Treasurer's report read as follows:—Racing Club account, dr., £139 5s 6d; Totalistator account, cr., £242 6s 6d; Trust account, cr., £53 lis 6d; Credit balance at date, £154 12s 6d. A letter was received from Mr F. Hill, stating that Routine did not weigh in after running third in the October Hack Handicap at the last meeting. Mr Hartgill (judge) wrote stating that the placed horses in the October Hack Handicap were Tangeroa lst.Highden 2nd, Routine 3rd, and Kelso 4th.—lt was decided that as Routine did not weigh in the stakes for third place be awarded to the first horse. An application from R. L. Nash for a jockey's license was recommended to the Metropolitan Club to be granted, subject to a suitable recommendation from his last employer. The resignations of two members were received and accepted. Plans for the proposed alterations at the course were submitted by Mr L. G. West, of Palmerston North. —The plans were held over for consideration at a future meeting. One new member was proposed and duly elected. Accounts amounting to £l6B were recommended for payment.
