SENIOR MATCHES. CARTERTON DEFEATS W.F.C.A. Two matches in the Senior class were completed yesterday, and each proved rather one-sided, being practically an innings win in each case. ' Carterton met W.F.C.A. on the former's wicket at Carterton, and succeeded in accomplishing the downfall of their opponents without having to face the bowling themselves again. The scores last Thursday stood Carterton, 137, WJEiC«A„"76. 'One innings each had been played. W.F.C.A. went in to bat, and came just one short ot tne total requisite to save an innings defeat, compiling 60. R. Welch was top-scorer with 21, made by good allround cricket. total incuded two 4's. Robertson shaped well for 16. During the course ot the match six consecutive wickets fell without a single score being added, Fairbrother being rfairly '"on-it" with the ball. The latter thus required's3 to avert an inning's defeat, and by dint of careful play they succeeded in compiling 56. Lomas hit freely for 21, shaping very well against Moss, and being the only player to reach double figures.
