' DECLINES A PRESENTATION
TWO HUNDRED POUNDS ERFUSED: By Telegraph—PressTAIHAPE, December 2. Mr R. W. Smith, Independent Liberal candidate for Rangitikei seat at the last election, has declined to accept a purse of sovereigns containing over £2OO which has been subscribed. The money is being retuned to the subscribers. Mr Smith is to be entertained at a banquet shortly whpn probably a presentation of a piece of plate will be made to him.
