FEILDING RACES
SECOND DAYS' RESULTS.

There was a good attendance and beautiful weather for the second day of the Feilding Races. Twentyone bookmakers were licensed. The totalisator receipts for the two days amounted to £16,983, compared with £27,318 for the spiing meeting last year. Results:— Yurk Stakes-Rangipapa, 8.10, 1; Crucinella, 7.13, 2; Ballarat, 8.5, 3. Also started—Golden . Eagle, Flitaway, Sir Artegal. Good start. Ballarat led from Rangipapa to the straight where Rangipapa came away and won by a head. Time, 1 rain 14 2-ssec.
Nikau Hack Handicap—Lady Menschikoff, 7.13, 1; Seaton Dale, 8.3, 2; Roosevelt, 8.5, 3. Also started—Advantage, Andrew Mack, Voetgang,Timothy, Paione.Overtime, Flying Win 3. A good start. Flying Wind weiit to the front at the entrance to the straight. Lady Menschikoff and Seaton Dale iame up, and the winner got there by a nose. Time, Imin 5 l-ssec. Manchester Handicap—Muskerry, 7.10, 1; Hiro, 6.8, 2; Truganini, 7.9, 3. Also started—Moral, Tangimoana, Waitapu, White Lie, Sandstream, Lamsdorff. A splendid race. Muskerry first took command with Truganini, White Lie and Sandstream cjose up. At the home turn Moral and Tangimoana crept up. Approaching the post Hiro challenged the leader, who responded, and won by two lengths. Time, 26 3-ssec—a record for the course. Cheltenham Hurdles —Mahoe, 10.7, 1; Paparaehi,! 10.3, 2; Showman, 9.13, 3. Also started—Gold Dust, Oryx, Don Carlos, Xavier, Defeat. From a good start Xavier and Paparaehi went to the front. Oryx and Don Carlos threw their riders at the third hurdle. Morris (Oryx) was carried in with an injury to his leg, which is not serious. Mahoe was first over the last hurdle and won by a neck. Time, 3min 18 4-ssee. Rongotea Hack Hurdles—D'nil, 9.10, 1; Peregrine, 10.7, 2; Yosami, 9.11, 3. Also started— Moose, Whimper. D'nil led all the way and won by two lengths. Time, 2min 51sec.
Welter Hack Flat—Stayboy, 8.11, 1; Aorangi, 8.7, 2; Coy, 8.0, 3. Also started—Rangihaetk, Tangeroa, Buoyant, Investment, Anemone, Separator, and Nightmare. Aorangi went to the front, followed by Tangeroa and Buoyant, but on entering the straight Stayboy shot out from the ruck and eventually won by two lengths. Time, Imin 57 3-ssec. Railway Welter —Ikon, 10.0, 1; Probability, 8.11, 2; Shuja, 9.0, 3. Also started--Toa Tuhi, Nova, Lethean, San Fernando, Grenade, Chicane, and Blue Ribbon. Time, Imin 28 l-ssec. Chicane led to the straight, where Probability took up the running; then Ikon, who won comfortably by a length and a half. Maiden Hack Scurry— Eclogue 1, Fond Memory 2, Haeremai 3. From a good start Fond Memory went to the front. Eclogue challenged in the straight, and won a great race by a short head, third horse two lengths away. Time, Imin 9 l-ssec.
The total for bookmakers' fees for the meeting amounted to £BIO.
