FIRE-RAISING EXTRAORDINARY.
A YOUTHFUL FEMALE CULPRIT. FIRES HER EMPLOYER'S PREMISES. TO AVOID WASHING DAY. ?By Telegraph—Press Association. NELSON, November 30. On the night of November 13th a 'fire was discovered in an outhouse a" Herbert Maitland's residence i.i Trafalgar street under very suspicious 'circumstances. As there had been a number of outbreaks within a short space of time, some uneasiness was occasioned. As a result of police investigations regarding the fire mentioned, MarjgaretiLarkin, a girl 16 years of age, employed by Mr Maiiland as domestic servant, wan yesterday arrested on a of arson. She has confesed to the police that she committed the crime in order to get out of doing the next <day's washing. Accused was brought before the Court to-daf and remanded on bail rfor a week.
