"MRS. WIGGS OF THE CABBAGE PATCH."

On Wednesday next, December 2nd, Mr Williamson will produce at the Town Hall, Masterton, Annie Crawford Flexner's dramatisation of "Mrs Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch." "An evening of sheer delights," is the description the London "DailyExpress" gave of "Mrs Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch" last year. "Mrs Wiggs is a dear," added the critic. "She is the most lovable personality on the stage at the present moment. This is the kind vf play that one wants to describe in ft breath. It is difficult to convey in the printed line even the vaguest idea of the deiiciCi?? the humour, the charm, the humanity of Mrs Wiggs." Other Lundon papers were equally complimentary. The play is claimed to be an excerpt from real life, and every character of it is a portrait of a similar type. Mrs Wiggs has been the success of two seasons in America, and one in London. The play is spoken of as being excellently dramatised from the book, and particularly well constructed. Miss Ada Dyer, who plays Mrs Wiggs, has for some time been recognised as a leading actress in America, having p'ayed leads with the late Richard Mansfield, and is spoken of as an actress that has the gift of assimilation very strongly developed. The box plan is now open at Miss Rive's.
