STEAMERS IN COLLISION.
TONGARIRO BADLYJ DAMAGED. LONDON, November 28. The Royal mail steamer Tongarim collided with the steamer Drumlanrig off Dover. The Tongariro, whieh is now anchored at Dover, 39 badly damaged forward. The forepeak is full of water. It is feared the vessel will have to be beached, as the Drumlanrig has been. CHRISTCHURCH, November 28. The New Zealand Shipping Company were to-day in receipt of the following cable from their London office—"The Tongariro is at Dover. She has been in collision with the steamer Drumlanrig. Tongariro is seriously damaged, and must return to London. Nobody is ini'ured." The Tongariro left London on Thursday for Plymouth, and was to have left Plymouth to-day for Wellington. Rtceived November 30, 1.5 a.m LONDON, November 29.
The Tonagriro, after temporary repairs, returned to London to discharge.
