HUSBAND SHOOT*? HIS WIFE. THEN ATTEMPTS SUICIDE". SYDNEY, November 28. A domestic tragedy occurred at Paddington, a Sydney suburb. A young couple named Mather had been married eleven months, but the union was unhappy, and the wife returned to her parents' home, where the husband visited her last night. The pair were apparently on friendly terms . and were preparing to walk out when Mather drew a revolver and shot his wife dead. He then turned the weapon on himself, and is now dying in the hospital. An infant child was found in the room with the victims of the tragedy.
