GRAND LARCENY.
CHARGES AGAINST AN AUSTRALIAN. Received November 25, 8.10 a.m. LONDON, November 24. The New York correspondent of the London "Daily Mail" reports that Montefiore Myers, a fashionably dressed Jew ±rom Australia, giving a London address as his place of residence, was arrested at Pittsburg onr a charge of grand larceny. Pretending that he represented Rothschilds, and intended to invest 40 millions of money, he was introduced into the best circles. He is charged with stealing lumber bonds, and alio with having failed to pay the deposit on an 05l option. Myers describes the charges as based on perjury. FETED AND ENTERTAINED. Received November 25, 8 a.m. LONDON, November 24. Myers was for two months an honoured guest of Pittsburg magnates. He was feted and entertained at civic banquets. Many familiar letters and portraits from Princes and eminent women were found in his possession.
