(By Cover Point.) CARLTON v. GREYTOWN. The Wairarapa Cricket Association match between Carlton and Greytown was concluded at Greytown on Saturday last, and resulted in a win for Carlton by 7 wickets and 2 runs. Greytown's second innings produced 31 runs. Two men were absent. ;Moss took 4 wickets for 10., and L.B oyd 4 for 11. Requiring 49 to win, Carlton secured the required runs for the loss of 3 wickets. The Masterton-United match on Saturday iast resulted in an easy win for Masterton by 104 runs. With 7 wiekets down for 74 runs Edwards and Oidridge continued Masterton's second innings. The pair made a serviceable stand, and mainly through their efforts 117 was up before Masterton's innings closed. Edwards played nicely for 16, and Oidridge made a uerviceable 20. The bowling was in the' hands of Waters and j Congdon, but neither bowled as well | as on the previous Saturday. I
United were left with 199 to win, but only reached 94. Waters accounted for 46 of the score. He played well for this runs, but did not infuse as much vigour as usual into his play, being more careful. Though he backed up well his running between the wickets was on two or three occasions faulty, his calling and then hesitating confusing the batsman at the other end. Jones was the only other double figure scorer, making his 11 in two successive hits (a 6 and a 5) off Rawson. Thompson, who went in at the "tail" got three United wickets for 2 runs. The Mauriceville Juniors obtained a creditable win over the Masterton Juniors on the Park Oval on Saturday last. Masterton 11. made 88 in their second innings. Ibbetson scored 26 (not out) by nice cricket, while Williams (16) and Martin (15) hit vigorously for their runs. Mauriceville got the required number of runs for the loss of five wickets. Hansen played well for 25, while Fisher 25 (not out), and Blackmore 16 (not out), gave good exhibitions, and puiled the match out of the fire for Mauriceville. The following are the scores:—
