THE WHAREAMA FISHERY.
The opening up of the above beauty spot was a subject discussed in brief by the Masterton Chamber of Commerce yesterday. The meeting decided to enlist the services of Mr W. C. Buchanan in the matter of obtaining a road through to the reserve, and also to ask Mr A. W. Hogg to keep the matter prominently before the Government. The services rendered by Mr J. T. M. Hornsby were appreciatively referred to. It is gratifying to see that the Chamber is not going to allow this important matter to drop, and it is earnestly to be hoped that the united efforts of our district representatives will achieve a very desirable object. We have had occasion to refer repeatedly to the great desirability of having an East Coast watering place with the attractions of the Whareama, and in the interests of the whole Valley such a matter might well be energetically forwarded.
