Mr M. Miller has been appointed Registrar of Marriages, Births and Deaths for the district of Featherston. - aacsa
1 Dr J. P. S. Jamieson, of Eketahuna, was married at Nelson, on "Wednesday last, to Miss J. M. Boddon, of East London, South Africa, says the "New Zealand Times."
Mr Arthur Ballance, the popular baritone, is to leave Wellington for England shortly. It has been decided to tender him a complimentary concert in the Town Hall, Wellington, on December 3rd.
!• The death is announced of Mr Charles Baynes, for several years past clerk to the Kiwitea County Council, at the early age of 41 years. The late Mr Baynes was well-known all over the Manawatu district, and greatly esteemed.
At Bulls a number of friends of Mr John Stevens, not all of whom are supporters of his candidature, presented him with a handsome silvermounted walking-stick, engraved as - follows: "John Stevens, Esq., M.P., from his Bulls constituents as a token of esteem and slight recognition of * his services."
