The following are the results of the second day's races:— Spring Handicap, 1 mile—Tui Cakabau (Ackroyd) 1, Celtic 2, Sandstream 3. Abo started—Advo- ' cate, Rauparaha and Landlock. Won by three-quarters of a length. Penrose Hurdles—Dolores (Milson) 1, Reservoir 2, Hautapu 3. Also started —Creusot. by two lengths. Normanby Handicap Rarata (Price) 1, Inglis 2, Carmania 3. Also started—Miss Advance, Jena, Flint Island, Haid Rock, Mentira and Cyreniac. Won by a length. Birthday Handicap, 1* mileCarl Rosa (Whittaker) 1, Te Aroha (Buchanan) 2, Tan San (Price) 3. Also started—Moral, Douche, Delegate, Paritutu, Pohutai and Sandstream. Won by a head. Time, 2min 38sec. Musket Stakes, 4 furlongs—Salute (Brady) 1, Maori King 2, Sea Elf 3. Also started—St. Amans, Ettna, Vic, Fighting Fish and Eitigance. Won by half a length. Onehunga Steeplechase, about 3 miles—Bullworth, 10.6, 1; Connecticut, -9.7, 2; Cinja, 10.11, 3Scratched—Dolores 10.9, Mawhitu 10.1. .Bullworth took charge at the last fence, and won by three lengths. Time, 6min 12sec. Maiden Plate Waimangu 1, Escamillo 2, Rimlock 3. Scratched —Tartan. Won by half a length. Epsom Handicap—Cambrian 1, Tarina-2, Muskerry 3. Scratched— Santo Rosa, Lycia and Royal Soult. ■Lindsay, the rider of Haldane was kicked at the post, and had his leg broken.

The Waipawa Racing Club's Birthday meetingg took place to-day. Results :
Maiden Hack, 6 furlongs—Polynices 1, Cork 2, Kimmerian 3. Also started —Sir Possible. Won by a length. Time, Imin 19sec. Welter Hack, 7 furlongs—Rose Lethe 1, Peregrine 2, Robin Rink 3. Also started—Monarque, Tuathi, and Minister. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, lmin 31 4-ssec. Waipawa County Handicap, 1 mile —Lamsdorff, 8.10, 1; Voetgang, 8,5,-2; Hipporofla, 9.0, 3. Also started—Millenial 7.11, Separator 7.5, Dallyneely 7.12. Won by half a length, a head between second and third. Time, lmin 44 4-ssec. Homewood Hack, 7 furlongs—Jet d' More 1, Sir Benson 2, Waikareao 3. Also started Perchance, and Minister. Won by a neck after a great finish. Time, lmin 34 4-ssec. Scurry Stakes, 4 furlongs—Ora Pinsent 1, Cork 2, Taumanu 3. Also started—Kimmerian, Nubian Lion and St. Helena. Won all the way. Time, 52sec, Grandstand Hack, 1 mile—Eperigrine 1, Robin Rink 2, Rose Lethe 3. Also started—My Darling. Won easily by a length. Time, lmin 44 4-ssec.
Railway Handicap, 6 furlongs— Hipporofla, 9.2 (Kirk), 1; Millenial, 8.0, 2; Voetgang, 8.7, 3. Also started Golden Gate, Chantress. Won by a long neck. Time, 2min 18 3-osec.
Hack Flying, 6 furlongs—Mistletoe 1, Sir Possible 2, Wonderbohm 3. Also started—Prince Hassan, Turtahi and Merry Tiger. Won by a head. Time, lmin 18 4-ssec.
WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB
SUMMER MEETING.
The programme of the summer race meeting of the W T airarapa Racing Club, on January Ist and 2nd next, which is published elsewhere, should provide record nominations and'good fields. The total vilue of the stakes for the two days racing is 2,090 sovs. The princial event on the first day is the Wairarapa Cup, 350 sovs, and on the second day the Racing Club Handicap of 225 sovs. Other events range from 100 sovs to 130 sovs. Nominations for all events close with the secretary (Mr E. A. 'Laery), Featherston, at 8 o'clock on Friday, December 11th.
RAILWAY ACCIDENT,
By Telegraph—Press Association STRATFORD, November 9.
John Cleaver, aged 51, was attempting to board a train in motion to-day, when he slipped and was dragged some distance. He //as crushed between the platform and a carriage, and was removed to the hospital suffering from internal injuries, the extent of which have not yet been ascertained.
