Mrs O'Connor applied to have her name put on the roll of latepayeis in place of her husband, now deceased.—The application was agreed to 'Mr C. Stillborn applied to have his name put on the roll of ratepayers for land purchased from the Messrs Maunsell. The application was granted. Messrs Seaton and Sladden forwarded a plan of the lea Estate for the appruval of the Council. The Council considered that before approving of the road and bridge proposed to be made on the lea property, the proposed road should be connected by a bridge over the Whareama liver at the homestead to the road on the western bank of the said river. The Clerk was directed to give notice to the owners of the cottage occupied by the Road Overseer, that the lease would terminate in one week, and that notice be given of the intention of the Council to proceed with taking part section 23 in the Tinui township under the Public Works Act. A special meeting of the Council was fixed for November 14 to receive and deal with tenders for contracts 32 and 33— carting road metal. Accounts amounting to £522 9s 3d were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
