The course proper, the outside trestles, and the sand and tan were all used. Celtic and Pohutu were i together at the end of seven furlongs on the tan, run in lmin 34 3-ssec. , Rarata did six lurlongs on the course ] proper in lmin 21 4-ssec. Carl Rosa ' wet a round on the tan, the last seven furlongs occupying lmin , 30 2-ssec. Muskerry beat Moral by . three lengths over ,seven furlongs on the sand in Imm 33see. Tsrina covered tour furlongs on the course in 57 3-ssec. Leonator did a round on the tan in lmin 57 2-ssec. Tan San beat Aborigine over a mile on the sand. Maori King beat Hyperion and Elegance over five furlongs on the course in l«nin 8 4-ssec. Tetrazzini did four furlongs on the course in 54 3-53 ec, and Waihuka five furtongs on the course in lmin 9sec. After breakfast Paritutu easily beat Sandstream over a mile and a quarter on-the course in 2min 19 1ssec. Waimangu, going better than Santa Rosa, did six furlongs on the sand in lmin 17 3-ssec. Pharos and Recreation jumped the hurdles, th 3 former also jumping big country. Connecticut, Bullworth and Hardy did a round of the big fences going over the hill. The two former jumped well; the latter gave a poor display.
