METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr W. F. Day, of Brooklyn, Gladstone, reports as follows: The rainfali for October was 2.82 inches, rain fell on 17 days. The maximum fall was .51 inches on the 4th and 28th, and the minimum fall .01 inches on the 15th and 27th. The rainfall for October, 1907, was 1.64 inches. Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Sunday was 40 points, and for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. ori Monday one point. Mr A. B. Nicholls reports that the rainfall registered at Castlepoint for the month of October was 4.10 inches. The maximum rainfall was 74 points on the 11th, and the minimum 2 points on the 17th, By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 2. The following is Captain Edwin's forecast to 3 p.m. to-morrow: — Moderate to strong westerly winds over the North Island, and northerly in most parts of the South Island. Little movement of the barometer in the North, but falling in the South Island.
