THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY.
So far from the increased area engaged in supplying the London butter msrket, or even the very serious distress which has arisen from unemployment in the United Kngdom having depressed butter prices or slackened the demand, there was never a more promising season from the paint of view of the sellers. Even Siberian butter stands at 112s per cwt., until comparatively lately a top figure for our own produce, while Danish is quoted at 130s, and fresh New Zealand even higher. These are exceedingly favourable terms upon which to commence our dairying season, while the climatic conditions at present are all that could be wished, and promise well for the recouping of the losses occasioned by the drought and fires of last summer.
