[ Received November 2, 12.25 a.m. LONDON, November 1. I Dewsbury beat the Australian League team yesterday by three gOals and three tries (15 points) to nil. The Australians at times pressed strongly, but generally were outplayed. Messenger, who is suffering from an injury, did not play. ""The "Wallabies" (4 gop.h and 3 tries) defeated the Durham Pirates (a dropped goal and a try) on Saturday. The match was payed at Hartlepoole. Durham were good in the loose, but the "Wallabies" threequarters were brilliant. In the first half Dix, Russell and Mackivett secured tries for Australia. Carmichael converting two of them. After half time Dix and Creagh each obtained a try, and Russell two tries.
