SLY GROG-SELLING.
AN APPEAL DISMISSED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 1. At the Supreme Court yesterday Mr Justice Cooper delivered his reserved judgment in a case in which John Franklyn Smith appealed against his conviction on a charge of sly grogselling in Wellington. The ground of the appeal was that the evidence of two probationary constables upon which Smith's conviction was based was not corroborated by any other witnesses. The appeal was dismissed.
