MEYNELL AND GUNN'S COMPANY.
Messrs Meynell and Gunn's New Dramatic Company will open at the Town Hall for a season of two nights, commencing on Thursday. The opening piece, "The Little Breadwinner," a drama in four acts by Mr J. C. Campbell, made a big success in England, and recently when presented at the Theatre Royal, Melbourne, attracted big houses nightly. There is a good deal of quaintneas and originality in the development of the story. The scenes are centered round a quaker home, whose head is a stern peer of the British realm, and who wrongfully turns his son from his doors Lhrough the machinations of his secretary, a true prototype of Dickens' Uriah Heep. Included in the cast are many members favourably known to Australian audiences, including Messrs G. P. Carey, C. R. Stanford, etc., and Miss Beatrice Holloway, the young Australian actress. The second dramatic production will be "The Fatal Wedding." The box plan is at Miss Riye's.
