AN IMPORTANT AGREEMENT.
FRENCH GOVERNMENT AND A STEAMSHIP COMPANY. ' PARIS, October 23. A twenty five years' agreement has been concluded between the French Government and the Me'ssag-eries-Maritimes Company regarding subsidies, including one of the Australian line. The State will save £40,000 a year. It guarantees the company's new issue of bonds, which is designed to renew the company's fleet. The State reserve the right to participate in the profits of the subsidised line.
