PACIFIC INTERESTS.
CONFERENCE OF POWERS. DESIRED BY JAPAN. Received October 25, 4.30 p.m.' LONDON, October 24. The "Standard's" New York correspondent says that it is reported at Tokio that Japan desires a conference of the Powers interested in the Pacific to discuss and settle matters containing possibilities* 1 for future friction. It is stated that Japan is prepared to convene the conference unless Britain or America takes the initiative.
