SIR C. FURNESS' OFFER. APPROVED BY EMPLOYEES' DELEGATES. Received October 25, 4.30 p.m. LONDON, October 24. A meeting of delegates representing the men employed by Furn ess, Withy and Company, at West Hartlepool, approved of Sir Christopher Furncss' co-partnership proposals, and urged the local branches o* the various unions concerned to adopt the experiment for a year. Sir Christopher Furness offers to sell to trade unions connected with shipbuilding his linn's shipyards at Hartlepool, or, aa an alternative, admit tl.em to co-partnership, provided they give a pledge not to strike. He has declared that he has lost many orders because, in view of labour troubles, he cannot guarantee delivery. He offers the employees one year's trial of the scheme.
