_ * A CONSOLIDATION ORDER. Received October 22, 9 a.m. DURBAN, October 21. General Lord Methuen, Commander-in-Chief in South Africa, speaking at Durban, stated that Mr 1-Hdane, Secretary of State for War, had directed him to consolidat3 the military forces in South Afirca-in order that the Motherland might be able to withdraw every soldier, leaving the defence of the country to the colonists.
