NATIVE LANDS.

bince 1900, the year which inaugurated the native land policy of the Government, trust lands leased by Maori Land Boards, Trust Boards, and committees, have totalled 280,556 acres, lands leased with the consent of Maori Land Boards 694,061 acres, and lands from which restrictions have been removed by the Government under recommendation of Maori Land Boards, to permit sales, leases, and mortgages, 429,926 acres. This makes a total of 1,404,543 acres. The Native Lands Commission hae already dealt with 1,295,000 acres and has practically investigated 900,000 acres more and expects to report upon them in about six weeks.
