STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report at their spring cattle sale yesterday as follows: —The sheep entries were limited to fats, dry ewes and hoggets ail selling under the hammer at sound rates. In cattle we yarded upwards of 600 head, .the majority of the entries being yearling to 18months, for which there was a good damand, every line changing hands, as did all useful steers, empty cows and nice quality beef, at the of the sale only one pen of cows in calf remained unsold, rat« 3 all through being firm, prospects of cattle looking bright. Medium fat. ewes 13j 3d, prime 15s 6d, hoggets 10s 7d, dry ewes (poor) 6s 6d, grown steers £4 10s to £5 15s, 2-year-old £3 10s, yearling and 18-montns 40s to s;>s, einp'y cows and heifers £2 2s to £2 . 10c, yearling heifers 25s to 27s f>d, dairy heifers £3 10s, aged cows | 20s tD 40J, calves 143 63, heifers (beef) £5 7s 6J, store pigs 16s 6d to , 18s.
