At the wool sales the brisk general competition was maintained till the clo.=e of the sales, the Americans bidding keenly. The quantity sold for the Home market was 106,500 bales, for the Continent 102,000 bales, for America, 9,000 bales. The number of bales held over was 37,000. Compared with the July sales greasy merinos generally were unchanged. Good parcels were occasionally 5 per cent, higher. Scoured merinos were 10 per cent, lower, fine* crossbreds par to 5 per cent, higher, medium coarse par to 5 per cent, lower, slipes (scoured) Id lower, lambs unchanged.
