THE MEIKLE CASE.

At a meeting of the Meik!e Defence Committee resolutions were passed expressing thanks to the Premier for his honest efforts to supplement the passing of the Meikle Acquittal Bill with pecuniary compensation; that though 21 years will have passed on Saturday since the plot which secured the conviction of an innocent man and the wrong is still unredressed as no compensation has been given, the committee are determined to see the matter through; that steps be taken to demonstrate the absurdity of the nonsense talked about regarding a syndicate.
