TURBULENT SCENES. DISORDER AT A COUNCIL MEETING. THE UNEMPLOYED QUESTION. Received October 15, 8.40 a.m. LONDON, October 14. Turbulent scenes were witnessed at a meeting of the London County Council. Mr Smith, secretary of the Right-to-Work Committer, insisted on moving ah urgency mo l ion regarding the provision of wont fur the unemployed, although the chairman had ruled it out of order. Unemployed in the galleries created great disorder, shouting "We are hungry; give us work!" Eventually they were expelled, shouting "Robbers! Hypocrites! Several policemen and attendants vainly tried t'j remove Mr Smith, their failure being due to obstructions by the Labour members. Tne council was compelled to adjourn without transacting business.
