CARTERTON.

(From Our Own, Correspondent). A meeting of Trustees of the Dalefield Methodist, Church was held at Dalefield on Tuesday evening, the Kev. W. J. Elliott in the chair. The annual report, which showed a very encouraging state of affairs, was read by the Secretary, (Mr G. Gordon), and adopted. The Church Anniversary celebrations were fixed for November Bth, and the annual tea on the following Thursday. It was decided to paint the Church. At a meeting of the Management of St. Mark's Sunday School, held at Carterton on Tuesday evening, it was decided to hold the annual concert on November 80th. It was decided that the Parkvale branch of the school should hold a separate service this year, instead of combining with the Carterton School treat. Labour Day was observed in a very quiet way at Carterton. All factory hands observed a holiday, and a flag was flown from the Post Ofiice tower. A concert in aid of the St. Mary's fresbytery Fund, Carterton, was held at Martinln.rough on Tuesday evening, and proved very successfu i. A fair audience greeted the performers who executed every item with credit. The Carterton Catholic Dramatic Ciub staged the amusing comedy "Boots at the Marquis," which proved very successful.
