piofessionals started in the "Evening News" Marathon Race from Windsor to the Stadium at Shepherd's Bush. Siret, a Frenchman, aged 20, was the winner, his time being 2 hours 37 minutes 23 seconds.
White, Ireland, was second, he doing the- distance in 2 hours- 40 minutes 15- seconds.
Seven got home ahead of Dorando's time
