DROWNING ACCIDENT.

By Telegraph—Prass Association. PALMERSTON N., October 12. Mrs Laney, wife of one of the original settlers of the Foxton Small Farm Association, Awahou South, was drowned to-day while fording the Pohangina River above the bridge recently wrecked by a slip. The norse returned home without its saddle and with a broken bridle, and the body of Mrs Laney was afterwards found in the river, which was high after the rains. Mrs Laney leaves a husband and eight children.
