COLLAPSE OP FLOORING. Received October 12, 9 a.m. LONDON, October 11. During a presentation to the Duke <d Devonshire, an improvised flooring at the Public I}ath at. Matlock, a town in Derbyshire, noted for its hot springs, collapsed. Forty of the Ducal party were precipitated a distance of seven feet into an empty bath. They included the Duke a!id Duchess of Devonshire, the Duchess ot Rutland, Ladies Victoria, Diana, and Vio.let Manners (daughters of the Duchess of Rutland), and Lord and Lady Kerry. All received a severe shaking, but their injuries were, generally, slight. An ugly rush by the panic-stricken audience was, fortunately, not serious.
