Mr 0. Skeet, of Greytown, is seriously ill with pneumonia. There is no improvament in the condition of Mrs J. Jones, of Carterton, who is lying seriously ill. Mr T. R. Firman, who was until, • recently licensee of the Club Hotel, '' Carterton, has decided to take up his residenca in the South Island. A Gisborne Press Association telegram records the death of Mr Peter Nwen, aged SO years, who had been forty years in the district. At Wellington last Thursday Mrs E. Neely, at one time a resident of Moroa, was married to Mr R. A. Wakelin, formerly of Greytown, and now residing in Wellington. 1 Mr A. Farquahar, of the Pahiatua telegraph staff, has been transferred to Dannevirke. He has been succeed by Mr H. Wyatt, of the Masterton staff. The Rev. Father Duffv, at one time in charge of St. Mary's Parish, Carterton, has been appointed by the New Zealand University, as one of i the supervisors in connection with the December examinations. Constable McKelvie, who has been for some time in charge of the Carterton Police District, has received notice of his transfer to Clyde Quay Station at Wellington. Constable Carmody will succeed Ccnstabls McKelvie at Carterton. At Woodville last week, Mr James Thomas, of Maharahara West, wes married to Miss Edith Thomas, eldest daughter of Mr F. Thomas, of Chepston, England. Mr F. Thomas was best man, and Misses Belle Thomas and Grace Thomas were bridesmaids.
