MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. The General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association met on Saturday afternoon. There were present —Messrs D. McGregor, junr, (in the chair), W. H. Buick, J. P. Perry, W. Perry, J. E. Perry, T. P. Lett, J. Morris, R. Smith, A. G. Pilnier, W. J. Welch, G. C. Summerell, W, Cooper, W. D. Watson; J. Strang, A. J. Percy, Q. Donald, E. Harper, G. Shaw, J. C. McKiilop and J. D. Ciuiekehank. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs C. F. Valiance, W. E. Bidwill, R. J. Dagg and C. E. Daniel!. Mr Frank Moore, of Kai Iwi, wrote acknowledging with appreciation receipt from the donors of the Manawa Bowl, won by him for most points in fat cattle at the last Show. Mr Moore said it was a very handsome trophy. Messrs Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., stated that the Quibell Cup for competition in the purebred sheep classes at next Show was to arrive per the steamer Athenic. The Finar.ce Committee reported as follows: —Dr balance at last meeting, £5,032; rcceiptssir.ee, £334; expenditure, £62 13s; dr bslance at date, £4,751 2s. They recommended accounts to the amount of £348 for payment. The Chairman reported that he had made arrangements with the secretary for the latter t.> relinquish all positions held by him excepting the secretaryship of the Collie Club and the New Zealand Hereford Cattle Breeders' Association. They recommended the Secretary's appointment under the new conditions to date from the Ist October. —The report wa«s adopted. GROUND COMMITTEE. I
The Ground Committee met in the morning;. There were present Messrs D. McGregor, junr. (in chair), W. J. Welch, J. P. Perry, W. Cooper, W. Perry, J. Strang and Q. Donald. A discussion ensued as to the improvement of Sol way. It was unanimously decided to adopt the main ideas embodied by Mr J. M. Johnston's plan. The Committee decided to recommend to the General Committee that they (the Ground Committee) be empowered to fix the position of the ring, with a view of depositing soil on the site of the jgrandstand. The secretary submitted sketch plans embodying an adopted scheme from Mr Johnston's plans for the Committee's opinion. The plans were referred to the General Committee for consideration.
