PRICES VERY FIRM. By".Telegraph—Press Association. LONDON, October 9. JjThe wool market is very firm. Merinos are hardening. Continental bidding is brisk. The Bardford tops market is flat. Quotations —40's, 9fd; 46's, lid; common 60's, 21 Jd; super 60's, 22id. At the London sales there is strong American competition for best sorts, at improved rates, but some weakness is shown in the demand for mediums and shabbies. German buyers ai'e operating freely. Sales included—"Moawhango," Gifd; "Avondale," 9d.
