BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, October li. A football match, under Northern Union rules, between Taranaki and Auckland, was played here yesterday. There was an attendance of about 3,000, and the game was an attractive exhibition. A great deal of excitement was caused in the latter stages of the match by Taranaki passing Auckland's score. During the last few minutes Auckland scored a converted try, thus winning by 21 points to 18. Tries were scored for Auckland by W. Tyler, McDonald, Rowe, R. Wynyard and Marshall, and goals were kicked by Tyler, T. Houghton and Marshal. For Taranaki Bucfdand, W. McLean and Hooker (2) scored tries, and Hardgreaves kicked three goals.
