AN EXCITING VOYAGE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 11. The barquentine H-lga (1,311 tons) arrived in Wellington to-day, after a somewhat exciting voyage. . She left Newcastle for Wellington on September 20th with a cargo of coal for the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company. At 4 a.m. on the 22nd ult., when a heavy sea was prevailing, a severe squall struck the .-nip, and she lost her fore royal top nast and main topmast. Two days later the mizzen boom was carried away, and on the same day some top gear struck an ordinary seaman named O'Grady, aged twenty-one yenrs, severely injuring one of his hips, and though he is now able to get about the unfortunate young man may be permanently crippled. The Ilelga was jury rigged, and as favourable winds prevailed, Captain Pearson decided to continue the voyage to Wellington.
