BALLOT IN THE HOUSE. YASS ELECTED. Received October 8, 9.40 p.m. MELBOURNE, October 8. The House presented an animated scene to-day on the occasion of the balloting for the capital site. Of tha'eleven sites submitted it was evident that after the first ballot only the two really in the run nine were Dalgety and Yass. Up to the sixth ballot Dalgety was leading, at th>> seventh ballot the voting was equal, a..d the ninth and final ballot resulted:— Yass 3a, Dalgety 33. The Senate has to yet give its verdic:.
