MISS IRENE AINSLEY.
At her concert Miss Ainsley* will sing songs written expreessly for her by the gifted ballad writer Katherine Barry, and any of who have been fortunate enough to hear the gramophone reproduction of Miss Ainsley's singing of the song "Lilies" by that writer, will doubtless await with considerable eagerness for this item on the programme. Also, Miss Ainsley will sing "To-morrow," by the same writer, which was written and dedicated to Madame Melba, but suited her young protegee's voice so admirably that it became hers, and is now being sung for the first time in New Zealand at this concert. Miss Ainsley will be supported by leading artists, including Mr Hamilton Hodges, New Zealand's favourite baritone. The box plan will open this morning at Miss Rive's.
