WEDDING.

PYE—KNAPPETT. On Saturday afternoon, at the residence of Mr and Mrs W. Whittaker, Pine Street, Mr George Pye, of Masterton, eldest son of Mr A. R. Pye, ;of Palmerston North, was married to; Miss Edith Dorothy Knappett, only deughter of the late Mr B. Knappett, of Moruya, New South Wales. The bride- looked handsome in a navy blue tailor-made costume with cream vest and silk trimmings and pale blue toque. Miss H. E.' Stone was bridesmaid,, and wore a dainty pink silk muslin dress and white picture hat trimmed with pink roses. Both the bride and bridesmaid carried pretty bouquets. Mr B. Iveson was best man. The bride was given away by Mr W. Whittaker, and the marriage ceremony was,performed by the Rev. A. T. Thompson. At the wedding breakfast held subsequently the usual toasts were honoured, and felicitous speeches made. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold chain and pendant, and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleeve links. A large number of valuable presents were received, including several from Australia. Mr and Mrs Pye left by the afternoon train for Wellington, where the honeymoon is to be spent. In the evening a reception was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs Whittaker, and an enjoyable time spent.
