MASTERTON CLUB. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. The fl'-st; round of the ladies' championship was played last Thursday with the following result:— Mri G. C. Williams beat Mrs Henrv. 7 up 5 to play Miss G. Booth beat Miss E. Robinson, 1 up. Mia W. II Booth beat Miss Holmes, 4 up 3 to play. Tiitt second round is to be played Thursday next, Mrs G. C. Williams will play • Miss G. Booth; Miss J. Robieson will play Miss K Booth; Mrs W. H. Booth will plaj Mrs W. P. James; and Mrs H. Holmes will play Miss M. H. Payton.
MEN'S BOGEY COMPETITION. (President's Challenge Trophy.). The best cards for the Bogey Competition, played on Saturday, were as follow: — H'cap. Holes. C. Perry 12 4 up C. C. Cox scr 3 up J. Hirschberg 18 3up W. 11. Robieson scr 2 up A. E. Booth 11 1 up A. C. Paul 12 all square W. H. Booth scr 1 down D. Donald 5 3 down ■ i C. Perry, with 3 1-3 points holds the President's Challenge Trophy for the year, W. H. Booth and J. Gray being equal second with 3 points.
