It is officially denied that Viscount Morley, Secretary of State for India, suggested a reduction of the sentence passed on B. G. Tilak, the Nationalist leader found guilty of printing seditious articles. THREATENING LIFE OF VICEROY. A NATIVE SENTENCED. Received October 2, 10.35 p m. CALCUTTA, October 2. A native named Kali Cheran Muterjee has been sentenced to nine months' rigorous imprisonment, and also fined three hundred rupees for threetening the life of the Viceroy of India.
