MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The monthly meeting of the Mauriceville County Council was held on Saturday last, there being present —Crs Kummer, Heckler, Jackson, Dagg and Wall. The Valuer-General wrote stating that the division of th 3 Native reserve; at Hastwell will be furnished as"soon as particulars are obtained. Messrs W. Bray and T. A. Weston applied to have the reserves at present in their occupation transferred. A man under medical treatment applied for charitable aid. He said he had fourteen children, and 19 at f present residing with a daughter, "who has a large family. He was desirel to furnish the names of several of his unmarried sons that they,may < b'3 given an opportunity of contributj in?'to their father's support.—Temporary assistance was granted. ' The manager of the limekiln on ! Mangamahoe Road attended the meeting, and agreed in lieu of a money payment for damage to roads to maintain a section of the Mangamahoe Road, and clear away: all slips under o:ie cubic yard.' The Council approved of the transfer of reserves from W. Bray and T. A. Weston,-provided the rent is paid in advance as required by the conditions. i The credit balance in the General Account being nearly exhausted, it was resolved to transfer £4OO from the fixed deposit.
